Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service. Authenticate your account, process PDF uploads, run translations (Standard or DeepSeek AI, depending on your plan), and deliver translated files back to you.
  • To manage subscriptions. Verify your plan, manage premium features, and process payments through Google Play.
  • To send notifications. Alert you when your translation is ready.
  • To prevent abuse. Enforce usage limits, detect fraud, and stop users from creating multiple accounts to bypass free tier restrictions.
  • To show ads. Display advertisements for free-tier users. Premium users see no ads.
  • To improve the Service. Diagnose errors, monitor performance, and fix bugs.

3. How We Handle Your Documents

This is the most important part of our policy. Here is exactly what happens with your PDFs:

  • No permanent storage. Your uploaded PDF and the translated output are stored on our servers only for the duration of the translation process — typically minutes. Once the translation completes (or is cancelled), both files are immediately deleted.
  • No content scanning. We do not read, analyze, index, or extract information from your documents beyond what is needed for translation. We do not train AI models on your documents.
  • No sharing. We do not sell, share, or disclose your documents to anyone. During translation, document text is sent to our Standard translation engine (for Free users) or DeepSeek AI (for Pro/Max users) solely to produce the translation. The engine receives only the text to be translated — not your identity, account, or file metadata.
  • No backup copies. Documents are not backed up, archived, or stored in any permanent system. Once deleted, they are gone.
  • You own your files. You retain full ownership of both the original PDF and the translated output. We claim no rights to your content.

4. Illegal Content and User Responsibility

Docuvey is a neutral tool for PDF translation. We do not monitor, review, pre-screen, or exercise editorial control over the content of documents uploaded by users. You — the user — are solely and fully responsible for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of every document you upload or translate through our Service.

We accept absolutely no responsibility or liability for:

  • Any illegal, infringing, unauthorized, defamatory, obscene, or harmful content uploaded by users.
  • Copyright, trademark, or intellectual property violations resulting from a user translating documents without proper ownership or authorization.
  • Any criminal, civil, or administrative legal consequences arising from a user's decision to process unlawful, copyrighted, or otherwise restricted material through our Service.
  • Content that may be illegal in certain jurisdictions but legal in others — users must comply with the laws of their own jurisdiction and the jurisdiction of the target language.
  • Any damages, losses, fines, or penalties incurred by a user as a result of their own violation of these terms or applicable law.

By using the Service, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Docuvey, its owners, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of applicable laws, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

If you believe someone is misusing the Service to process illegal content, report it to abuse@docuvey.app. We will investigate and may remove content or terminate accounts at our sole discretion.

5. Translation Accuracy and Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied.

  • Docuvey uses automated machine translation technology. Translations may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies — especially with technical, legal, medical, or culturally nuanced content.
  • We do not guarantee that translations will be accurate, complete, appropriate, or fit for any specific purpose. Always have critical translations reviewed by a qualified human translator.
  • Layout preservation is highly reliable but not guaranteed for every document. PDFs with unusual fonts, complex formatting, embedded images, or non-standard encodings may not translate perfectly.
  • We are not liable for any consequences, damages, or losses resulting from translation errors, layout issues, or misinterpretations — including but not limited to financial loss, reputational damage, legal consequences, or personal harm.
  • The Service may be interrupted, temporarily unavailable, or subject to errors or delays. We are not liable for any damages resulting from service interruptions, downtime, or data loss.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Docuvey, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, reputational harm, or legal costs — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50.00) if you paid nothing.
  • You acknowledge that the Service is a tool, and you bear full responsibility for how you use its output. Docuvey is not responsible for decisions made based on translated content.
  • These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based — whether contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise — and even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. How We Store and Protect Data

  • Account data is stored on secure cloud servers with restricted administrative access.
  • All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
  • We do not offer end-to-end encryption of document content — documents must be processed in plaintext on the server during translation to function. By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept this technical requirement.
  • In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law. We are not liable for breaches caused by factors beyond our reasonable control.

If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
